lyrics
Time rich, inspiration poor. Passive self-sabotage. I implore you, I tell you I adore you. On a pillar you placed me, but you said it wasn’t safe to stay there with me: your footing, too unstable, your fear of falling renders you unable. You chose vertigo. You come to view me as the eye of the storm. You prove, make true what you and I did perform. We fall on the sword. Drove so fast. Slow down. We stall. We fall. On this pillar you left me lonely, you said it wasn’t fair to be holding onto me; and I join the torchbearer, she’s up here where you placed her when you chose vertigo. A pillar, cold and stony; you said you wouldn’t stay to keep me company. And there’s a pain in the soft way you say my name. You chose vertigo.
After three tries, I was still having a hard time figuring out what I felt about this record. I ended up assuming that if I came back to it twice without treating it as a chore, it meant that I was liking it.
This’ll probably stand out as a UFO in my collection. Peaceful and deceptively simple in appearance. Alice M.
